Character Info
Name: Allyseria Evnairis
Nicknames/Aliases: Allie
Age: 11
Gender: Female
Species: 1/2 Human/1/2 Hapan
Homeworld: Nar Shaddaa

Appearance:

Allie appears as a typical human girl, with paler skin than most due to her Hapan ancestry. Her brown hair is generally worn braided in two parts which hang down to her mid-back, but from time to time she will wear it straight. She stands one or two inches shorter than most her age, although that allows Allie to operate with a less conspicuous profile.
-Hair Color: Brown
-Eye Color: Light Blue
-Height: 4' 9"
-Weight: 84 lbs.
-Armor/Clothes: Allie wears a variety of clothing, depending on her current mission and what it involves. She tends to find clothes that blends into the population of the particular planet she is on and don that, becoming inconspicuous among the crowds of people on the planet. When she needs to keep her clothing to a minimum, Allie wears a skin-tight suit specially designed for her by Black Sun that minimizes her profile and adapts the pigmentation of the threads by interwoven display chips to blend into whatever background is necessary, and has a few pockets for weapons or equipment.
Distinguishing Features: Her skin is free of scars and blemishes, almost unnaturally so.
Handiness: Left but has trained herself to use her right hand proficiently.

Weapons:
-A pair of Vibroknives
-KYD-23
-ELG-3A
The KYD-23 is used as Allie's primary blaster, but when all else failed, the light ELG-3A blaster can get her out of a sticky situation. The two vibroknives are used for hand to hand combat or anything else.
Other items (not weapons):
-R2-P4
-Comlink
Ships/transports/vehicles: Starlight Light Freighter

Strengths: Allie is strong willed, and determined, which lends itself to completing her missions at almost any cost. She has a higher tolerance of pain because of this, and she can force herself onward, giving the illusion that she also has increased stamina.

Allie's implants give her added physical strength in her arms, which activate automatically when enough force is being exerted by her muscles. Her ocular implants give her enhanced vision when they are activated, but since Allie doesn't activate them by choice, but only when ordered to, they don't serve as a constant aid to her.

Training gave Allie a number of skills in acrobatics and gymnastics, and she was forced to learn to make her body very flexible. She uses these skills both in battle and while moving around, sometimes comparing her movement to a Kowakian monkey-lizard. Through her training, Allie was instructed in the usage of both blaster and melee weapons, allowing her to switch from a vibro-blade to a blaster with ease.

Weaknesses: Allie's Hapan ancestry gives her poor night vision, which is compensated by the ocular implants she was treated with. Nonetheless, she won't use them except on a mission or when ordered to, and so other times this weakness is present.

Despite her advanced training and knowledge, Allie is still very much a child, nearly an adolescent, and this becomes obvious when she is in-between tasks. From her mischievous origins, she is well on her way to becoming a typical rebellious teenager. The only thing that keeps her in line is that Black Sun provides a kind of family for her, however weak it is. She is also naive in her knowledge of the galaxy, although the instructions that she receives helps her learn about the normal functions and taboos in people of various cultures.

Allie doesn't have much skills in the realm of piloting, ship-to-ship combat, or in engineering. She is hopelessly useless when it comes to ships, so she makes use of her R-2 unit aboard her ship to fly and repair when necessary.

Force Sensitive: Mild sensitivity, not enough to qualify for training.
Abilities: The only ability that Allie really has is quick reflexes, an ability that truly owes itself to foresight, but is nonetheless only useful in the realm of reacting quickly to a current action rather than seeing into the distant future.

Class: Scoundrel
Affiliation: Black Sun
Rank: Underlord's Personal Operative

Personality:

Relations:
Mother: Tuija Sraal (deceased)
Father: Mikail Evnairis (deceased)

History: When Tuija Sraal left her home in the Hapan Cluster, she had no idea where to go. Eventually, she found herself signing on with a man who promised her a job with great benefits and pay. She and several other woman flew with this man to a new world which Tuija would soon learn was called Nar Shaddaa, or the Smuggler's Moon. The man, who claimed to be a recruiter for a multi-stellar corporation based on Nar Shaddaa, soon revealed his true intentions when the members of the group began disappearing over the course of the first few days on the planet. Unable to get a straight answer out of Tuija, she was taken by surprise when, on the fifth night, she woke up to three men hustling her out of bed and wisking her off to an unknown location. It was there she learned that she had been sold into slavery, to a Hutt gangster named Jabrukka the Hutt, to serve as nothing more than a pleasure slave for his many guests and valued henchmen.

Years went by as Tuija served Jabrukka in the most perverted way she could fathom. She provided entertainment for the Hutt's many guests, and felt exploited by him and his kind. One night, she was visited by one of Jabrukka's many guests. Tuija found the man physically attractive, but so she had found others before him to be so, and so he was not unique in this manner. But the man felt pity for her, and he obliged not to compel her to service him, but instead respected her integrity. This man, named Mikail Evnairis, visited Jabrukka several times over the next coming weeks solely to see Tuija. After a while, they began to meet in secret, and Tuija fell in love with Mikail.

During one of the many nights that Mikail spent with Tuija in secret, the guards of Jabrukka discovered him in her room, and imprisoned him. Tuija would never see him again, but rumors confirmed what she feared worse, that Jabrukka had killed Mikail. Soon after, Tuija found herself pregnant with Mikail's child, and did her best to keep it secret. Thankfully, Jabrukka had a span of bad business, and his guests were few and far between, so it was not difficult for Tuija to keep her pregnancy hidden from him. Her child was born a girl, and she was named Allyseria Evnairis, with the surname of Mikail in memory of Tuija's love for him.

For a while, Tuija was able to hide the Allyseria's existence from Jabrukka and his minions. But it soon became obvious that Tuija was occupied with much more than just her duties, and the strange noises that came from the woman's quarters were far from being a grown woman's cries. She managed to evade the questions and give enough excuses to last a year, but all good things come to an end, as was such with this. One of Jabrukka's guards found young Ally wandering in the halls while Tuija was serving one of Jabrukka's guests. The guard was so alarmed that he let out a yell, which drew the attention of the women and guests in the area. Tuija, without thinking, ran forward to shelter her child, but in doing so, clearly marked her as her own. She was brought before the Hutt crime lord and tried to defend herself, but she could not last against the Hutt's merciless glare. Tuija was condemned to die before his guests in the chambers where he kept exotic beasts and such.

With all the attention on Tuija's execution, one of the other women was able to shelter Allie and was nearly successful in smuggling her back to the quarters when a guard noticed her and called her out. Allie was grabbed from her arms and set before the massive blob of Jabrukka for him to decide her fate. At first he ordered her to be cast out, but as his guards headed away with her, he called them back. Taking the one-year-old child in his arms, he noticed her uncanny beauty, a trait common among Hapans and their descendents, noticeable even at her young age. One of the women suggested that she could be properly brought up to show no ill feelings towards Jabrukka. The Hutt was not foolish, for he relented to this line of reasoning, and relinquished Allie into the care of the women slaves.

The child grew over the years, and in that time, her value did not escape the Hutt. He had her begin a program to train her to be more docile and obedient. Unfortunately for Jabrukka, the program went awry. Those he had chosen to teach her were not qualified to do anything of the sort, and Allie began to act out. She became a mischievous child, getting into trouble more times than most of the guards and workers at Jabrukka's palace had time for. Thankfully, the Hutt had grown affectionate of her, and when anyone would present a list of Allie's troublemakings, he would only laugh and dismiss it.

Around Allie's eighth birthday, Jabrukka's organization began falling into trouble. His hired smugglers and assassins were joining his competitors and shipments were being made late or not at all. To try to survive, Jabrukka reached out to a number of organizations, including Black Sun, to borrow funds, promising a huge turnaround later. Business did not thrive as Jabrukka had expected, and over the course of the next few months, he was forced to sell off larger and larger parts of his organization in order to pay his creditors. Several months later, a representative from Black Sun arrived to collect his money. Jabrukka kept him at bay for many days, claiming he had sent his financial officer to retrieve the money, but he was not back yet. The zabrak Black Sun delegate seemed satisfied for the first week or so, and Jabrukka tried to plan a way around going bankrupt to Black Sun.

Over the course of the time that the Black Sun collector spent at Jabrukka's palace, he had many run-ins with Allie. She would spy on him, and when he noticed her, she would run out of sight, giggling all the while. The representative fell victim to a few of Allie's many pranks that she played on the staff of the palace, and instead of growing angry, was amused by her ingenuity. When he finally got a chance to sit and talk with her, the Black Sun representative seemed quite interested in what she had to say, and learned about her life at the palace. He said nothing at the time about having intentions for her, but they would soon reveal themselves.

When two weeks had passed, the Black Sun collected, whom Allie had learned was a Vigo, Nekor Shim, confronted Jabrukka. Jabrukka made several more excuses, but Shim saw through the Hutt's lies. He threatened the crime lord with shutting him down and ruining the contacts and organization that Jabrukka had built up. Not wanting to lose all that he had worked for, the Hutt suggested that Nekor name his price, anything from his palace; a slave, pet, ship, specific type of cargo, anything. Nekor made a show of thinking over his decision before deciding on Allie. Jabrukka was stunned, and tried to avert the Vigo's decision, offering him the entire conclave of women slaves instead, but Shim refused. He would accept nothing other than Allie, but, he claimed, not as a slave. She had to be freed before going with him. Facing the end of his crime empire, Jabrukka relented, and freed Allie of her slave status, before handing her over to Shim.

The change came as a shock to Allie. While she had not always liked living at Jabrukka's palace, it was the only home she had ever known, the people there the only family she had. Jabrukka himself was like a surrogate father, despite his unpleasant qualities. Allie did not resist leaving, but she was wary of what awaited her outside of living her free life in a Hutt's palace. Nekor, as if sensing Allie's nervousness, tried to make her comfortable. She was given a room of her own on his ship, and when they reached the Vigo's Coruscant base, she was given free run of the facility, as she'd had in Jabrukka's palace. Over time, Shim began encouraging Allie to stick to a set of guidelines that he gave for her, and with a gradual application, they became solid rules that she followed. With this rule base set up, Shim advanced to the next stage of his plan.

The Vigo approached Allie and asked if she would like to help him with his work. Having nothing better to do, she agreed. Shim cautioned her that it was dangerous, risky, and she could be hurt or killed, but Allie simply shrugged it off. Death and injury were no strangers to her, having witnessed the first several times due to Jabrukka's anger or some unwanted guest's misfortune at meeting the captain of the guards, while the second generally occurred when some of Jabrukka's staff punished her for being troublesome, resulting in a bruise, sore limbs, or one time, a broken arm. Satisfied that Allie understood what she was getting into, he began the work to transform her into a personal operative for his clandestine needs.

When Allie had first arrived at Shim's base, his team of medics performed a thorough examination of Allie. Through that exam, the Vigo learned that she at least had some Hapan blood in her, and that her night vision was severely hampered because of this. Therefore, one of the first things that happened to Allie as part of Shim's work to train her and make her his own was to surgically implant a set of retinal implants into Allie's eyes to compensate for her poor night vision. These implants provided a range of sight from the infrared band, to an enhanced version of the normal human vision bands, to a readout of a heat sensor reading taken from sensors contained within the implants. In addition to the ocular implants, Shim also had a set of specially-designed implants inserted into her biceps and triceps, to compensate for Allie's limited strength, due to both her gender, age and size. These implants were calibrated to activate automatically whenever Allie's limbs exerted more than 50% of their capabilities, unlikes the ocular implants, which were designed to activate only when Allie specifically called on them.

Allie had been unprepared for this step in Shim's plan, and she resisted having any implants put in. The Vigo waited until she slept one night to administer a sedative and then proceed through the operation. Afterwards, Allie discovered the implants were uncomfortable and she pleaded with the Vigo to take them out, but he refused to do so. Because of this, Allie harbors a deep resentment of the implants, and she refuses to use them unless she has to, such as in cases where her mission or orders require her to do so. Shim's only concern, it seemed, was to develop Allie in his vision, not to appease her every whim as he had when she first arrived.

The girl soon quieted her protests over the implants as Shim executed the next part of his plan, training Allie. Shim had been a soldier in his early years, and he put Allie through a series of physical and mental tests and training similar to that of his own, designed to break her down so that he could build her to his liking. It was hard and for the year that it endured, Allie possessed a violent hatred of Shim. The training started small, learned gymnastics and acrobatics, running laps around a course that Shim had designed within his base for physical exercise, and doing various other physical tasks to build up her stamina and strength. Education was part of Shim's training for her as well, and she learned about different ways to maintain secrecy, how to infiltrate a building, crack computer systems and security locks, and be next to invisible when moving around. She also learned how to fight in hand to hand combat, handle blasters and melee weapons, and the most important thing for Shim, how to kill. Before she had met Shim, she knew what death was, and had witnessed people being killed, but would never have considered the option for herself. But the training had desensitized her so much tot the concept that it was just another task to complete, one more part of Shim's comprehensive training for her to do.

By the time it was over, Allie was much different than her former self. She was stronger, more flexible, and versatile in her movements. Her knowledge had grown extensively as well, and her skills were nearly on par with an adult operative, though on a lesser scale. She was hardly specialized in any specific area, but her training allowed her to spy, infiltrate, sabotage, and kill to a sufficient extent for Shim's needs. Allie's personality had changed, too. She was still mischievous, but not to the point of compromising a mission as she might have before, and she was not as compassionate as she had been before. Her emotions were still there, but she could suppress them at a given time if they got in the way of her orders. The hierarchy of her priorities had shifted, placing orders and tasks above everything else, except, perhaps, her life.

With her training finished, Shim decided to test Allie with several missions. A smuggler hired by Shim had deposited part of the shipment in his own warehouse, and had cheated Shim on the payment. Allie's mission was to retrieve the shipment and the money, in any way she could. Dropping her off at the world, Shim headed to a nearby planet to do some negotiating with a local crimelord to enlist his services while Allie completed her mission. Unsure of what to do, Allie began asking around for the smuggler, but people just ignored her. This went on for several days before she got an idea. Posing as the smuggler's daughter, her requests caught the attention of the people, and she began to get some answers.

The world's citizens pointed her towards the smuggler's warehouse in a run-down section of town, replete with criminals, smugglers and other unwanted lowlifes. Donning the customized skin-tight suit that Shim had had made for her, and arming herself with her weapons, Allie headed off to that section of the city. When the streets began to thin out, Allie took to the roofs, and continued moving around from building to building until she got closer to the smuggler's warehouse. As she approached, the girl noticed that the warehouse was patrolled by a guard and his pet canine, a creature that, from it's looks, Allie knew she didn't want to cross. Moving back down to ground level, Allie crept around the back of the building, and kept hidden while the guard moved past her on patrol. Once she was satisfied that he was gone, she moved.

The warehouse had been long since abandoned by its previous owner and its current one didn't seem to care much for upkeep. In its run-down state, a window pane at the top of the building had broken, leaving a hole large enough to take advantage of. Clambering up the side of the building, Allie reached the window and extracted a vibroknife from a slim pocket in the leg of her suit. Placing the knife in the hole, she activated the vibro-quality of the knife, and its vibrations were fast enough to cut through the glass with ease. Once she had cut a large enough hole, Allie pushed the glass through so that it shattered on the inside of the warehouse, hoping that the guard wouldn't be able to hear it, or if he did, at least not see the shattered glass.

Climbing through the hole, Allie was able to jump down onto a catwalk that spanned the perimeter of the warehouse' third level. The second floor also had this structure, but the first floor was a real floor, its ceiling open to the upper two floors. The warehouse was dark, and grudgingly, Allie activated her ocular implants. Through the infrared spectrum, she could make out a large object in the middle of the bay, strangely shaped like a wing. There were boxes and other things around the warehouse, but except for that, it was empty. Making her way down to the floor, she opened one of the boxes to confirm its contents. True to what Shim had said, the shipment was all in the boxes around the warehouse floor. Proceeding to the wing-shaped object, Allie discovered that, to her surprise, it was a ship. The boarding ramp was down, so she boarded the ship and explored it.

The ship was small, just right for a one-man smuggling crew, but big enough to hold a sufficient cargo. Further exploration showed her the living area and cockpit. When Allie opened the door to a room in the ship, she found the sleeping figure of a man on a bed in the room, supposedly the smuggler. Not wanting to alert the warehouse guard, Allie extracted her vibroknife again and plunged it into the sleeping man's heart. Without waiting to make sure the smuggler had expired, she headed to the cargo bay again. Lowering the large loading lift, Allie began the task of moving the cargo boxes to the lift. While heading towards one of the boxes, Allie was suddenly pinned to the ground by a large weight. Realizing that the smuggler was not yet dead, she fought him off as best she could. The implants in her arms activated and were enough to shove the man off her back.

Instantly, the smuggler found himself staring down the barrel of a KYD-23 blaster pistol. He stopped dead in his tracks, quite literally, since at that moment, he fell to his knees and died. Simply shrugging, Allie resumed her task. For the next hour or so she worked to load the crates onto the ship's cargo lift. With a little space left, she took the time to drag the smuggler's body onto the lift as well before heading back up the ship's ramp to activate it from inside. Seating herself in the cockpit, she struggled to figure out the controls. Shim had gone over the basic concepts of flight, but the controls were unfamiliar to her and it took her a long time to understand where the necessary buttons were. Finally, in frustration, she punched a button on the console, which greeted her ears with a loud whine from the engines as they started up. Shocked by her success, Allie jabbed another control. This one, however, was not so miraculous, and caused the laser cannons mounted on the craft's wingtip to fire, creating a gaping hole in the front of the warehouse. By this time, the guard had entered the building, and had begun futilely banging on the side of the craft as the boarding ramp had already been raised.

Realizing that she was running out of time, Allie took hold of the control for the gun again, but this time tried to aim it a little better. With some wild shots, she was soon able to shoot out enough of the warehouse front to fit the ship through, along with demolishing the front of the building across the street as well. Taking no noticed of this, the girl did her best to fly the ship through the front of the building, and up into the planet's atmosphere. Hoping that Shim wouldn't mind not having the money with a ship instead, she used the ship's communicator to signal his ship. Shim traveled immediately to the world and found Allie in orbit with her ill-begotten ship. Praising his protege, Shim guided Allie to dock her ship in his, a larger capital ship with a docking bay, and met her inside his ship. Shim was overjoyed with Allie's success that he didn't seem to care that the money the smuggler had stolen was nowhere to be found. He gave the ship to Allie as a reward for the successful completion of the mission, promising to redecorate it to her liking.

Allie went on many more missions for Shim over the course of the next few months, using her new ship, which had been redecorated for her. The bedroom had been completely redone with a large, four-poster bed and a couch to relax on. The bathroom had been redesigned to make it more modern, and more appealing to an almost ten-year-old girl. The cargo bay was transformed into a training room for Allie, with a locker lining one wall, although the cargo lift was kept, but made flush with the rest of the floor. An R-series droid hookup was installed in the corridor outside of the cockpit for the R2-series droid that Shim gave to Allie to assist her with piloting, and to make any repairs that were necessary. The living area stayed much the same, just cleaned and given a redecoration to appeal to Allie's tastes more than the ship's former owner's.

Over the months, Allie gradually discovered the true reason for her training and transformation.

Other: Because of her Hapan heritage, Allie's night vision is not as proficient compared to most human species. This has been improved via the use of ocular implants, but due to the nature of ocular technology, the implants cannot render true human sight. Instead, the implant delivers vision within the infrared spectrum, similar to night vision employed by militaries across the galaxy, as well as an enhanced version of the normal light spectrum available to most human species, and a readout of heat sensors that are built into the implant.

Due to Allie's distaste of the implants, she refuses to use them except when ordered to or at night, and even at those times she despises what she sees via the implants and sometimes feels confused by the computerized version of night version versus her normal, daytime version of vision. The muscular implants, along with the ocular implants, are despised by Allie, and used only when she absolutely needs to. Other times, they lay dormant, waiting for her to active them. If she had her way, they would be removed and destroyed.

Roleplay Threads / TRF :: To Rule with a Rod of Iron
Last post by The Insane Admin -
Someone once said of a Tatooine spaceport, "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy." They were wrong. If anything could be more wretched, more full of scum and villains than Nar Shaddaa, it was surely a place alive only in the imaginations of its creators. Nar Shaddaa was anything but imaginary, and its creators were of the most wretched scum of all villains, the Hutts. Where the Hutts went, anyone from smugglers to petty thieves and robber were sure to follow. Such as it was with Nar Shaddaa, which, some historians had speculated, was once a thriving trade center built on legitimate reputations and honest trade. But as the economic strength of the Galactic Republic grew, and the tradelanes shifted away from Hutt Space, Nar Shaddaa turned into the Smuggler's Moon of modern times. Not even the Republic or its various successors were ever able to curb the rampant crime and many lowlifes who called the moon-wide city home.

The loud music and chatter invaded her ears as the change in illumination made her nearly blind. Closing her eyes tight, a mental twitch activated a switch embedded somewhere in her optic nerves. When she opened them again, she could see again, but in an entirely different way. Instead of the normal perception that she'd had before, the world was now presented in varying hues ranging from blues to reds, depending on the temperature that emanated from objects and people around her. It wasn't a pleasant way to see, and Allie both physically and mentally cringed at the sight; it was everything she could do to keep from triggering the switch again to turn it back. A sigh. She would have to deal with it for now.

The Lonely Preaky Tavern was moderately populated at the time when Allie entered it. Smoke wafted through her nostrils as the smell of alcohol quickly moved to join it. The afternoon's occupants took no notice of her, as they usually did for most newcomers who wandered in. Even the entrance of someone so young didn't seem to shake the concentration of the bar's patrons. The twi'lek barkeep, however, seemed to at least give her a glance before returning to his work. When he turned around again, he found himself face to face with the girl, who had made her way to the counter and hopped onto one of the mis-matched stools that had been carelessly positioned in front of the bar. The bartender's reaction was a little more callous than she'd hoped, as he leaned across the counter to ask, "Aren't you a little young to be in a bar, little miss?"

The girl exhaled a long breath, perturbed by the twi'lek's choice of words. As usual, Allie thought. I always seem to be too young, a little girl, small, or a child. When will they stop learning to judge me by my size or age? Her dejected thoughts were kept to herself for now, however, and her face and body gave no outward reaction to the barkeep's words. Only the question that he had posed, to which she simply shrugged. "Don't get many 'little miss'es in your tavern these days?" The response was a direct jab at the twi'lek's instant prejudice of her, but it wouldn't do any harm. It didn't usually.

"What do you want? he barked, agitated by the girl's interwoven sarcasm.

She only smiled and tilted her head, "You wouldn't happen to know of a Gavon Cabaril, would you? I've heard he's known to drop by these parts often, close to every day."

The twi'lek jerked his head in response, his lekku's flying out at odd angles as he did so. His head indicated a position back further into the bar, towards the sea of bodies in between the bar and the far wall. "He's usually over there. Haven't seen him today, though. You can check with his buddies, they're always in here, but be warned, they aren't a friendly bunch."

The girl grinned at him, "Don't worry, I can take care of myself." Flashing him another smile, she added a thanks and turned back to where the bartender had indicated. It was farther back, through the masses of people, but once she reached the table near the back, the crowd had thinned, giving her a clear indication of who she had been directed to. The table was circled by five large beings of differing race and size, and attired in all manners of clothing. Three humans, a Rodian and a Wookiee. Casually walking around the table, Allie passed a trained eye over them. All five carried at least one weapon, minus the Wookiee, which Allie supposed was because he could as easily use his own brute strength and claws as a weapon. They were all drinking, sharing stories and laughing to each other, taking little notice of the patrons around them.

One of the humans took notice of Allie, however. Grunting he turned to her and made a sweeping motion with his hand, saying, "Shoo, little girl."

The Rodian took hold of his arm and brought it down. Saying something in his native tongue, the human nodded, "You're right." Turning back to her, he asked, "Well? Come on, out with it girl, we haven't got all day." Turning to his friends, he added, "Well, actually we do, but we're too busy getting drunk and laughing at Fodo's hair."

He burst out laughing at this remark, and the other humans and the wookiee joined him, as the already-blue Rodian turned a deep sapphire color. Sure enough, the Rodian's head was topped with a dark tuff of hair that grew in an odd pattern, almost similar to the rigid mane that topped the blue-robed Chancellor's Guards of the Old Republic. It was amusing, but not something that the girl would outwardly laugh at. Then again, she wasn't drunk.

"You fellas wouldn't happen to know Gavon Cabaril, would you?"

"Know Gavon?" The same human answered her, turning to his compatriots, who all accompanied him in laughing this time. Facing Allie again, he said, "Of course we know Gavon, little girl." He said nothing more than this, to which the girl was forced to pose another question.

"Well, where is he?" She thought she'd try a direct route, who would suspect her of anything? Cabaril's friends seemed to regard her as harmless, anyways.

The wookiee rose from his seat and growled at her, a deep, yet high pitched growl that made the tavern's other occupants turn and look in his direction. The human also rose and explained, "He's right. Gavon's busy, and that's all you need to know. Now shoo, little girl."

The girl thought for a moment before replying. This wasn't going very well. Hoping to salvage the situation, she said, "Just tell me where he is and I'll go bother him. I don't want to bother you."

A second human stood up. Now three of the five were up, the arms at their sides, presumably within reach of their blasters. The second human, obviously more drunk than the first, spoke, "Now listen, keed. We tol you he was busy. He's not here, so busy ees where he ees. Got eet? Good. Now scran!"

Yep, definitely not going very well, she thought. She backed up and found herself against the wall. Oh, just beautiful, she chided herself, Get your back up against the wall facing three humans, a rodian and a wookiee, not to mention a whole tavern. Just beautiful, Allie. It sounded like a bad joke, like 'What do you get when you cross three humans, a rodian and a wookiee?' But the situation was truly serious, and it was looking like the girl was going to be on the receiving end of that situation. And it wouldn't be pretty. The nearest entry was too far away for her to get out the normal way, the only thing left was to try to talk them down. Either that, or start running now.

Allie tried, but her legs wouldn't move. Perfect! she thought. All of that training and my legs freeze up. It looked like she was either going to have to talk them down, or fight them. She had her blaster inside the bag that she wore on her back, but she wouldn't be fast enough to get to it. No, it would have to be the twin vibroknives she had strapped to her ankles. The girl frowned and nodded to herself on an earlier thought. This wasn't going to be pretty.

Distinguishing Features: Like all Zabrak that have passed puberty, his forehead is dotted with small horns that grow out from his skull. The color of his skin was uncommon among Zabrak, too, as most Zabrak had varying shades of black, brown, red, orange or yellow skin.

History: The planet of Corulag boasted its Imperial Academy, for which it was well known. Many upstanding citizens of Corulag chose to pursue their careers via the Corulag Academy, and thus the Imperial Military. Such as it would have been for Teran Corrino, had it not been for the collapse of the Galactic Empire in his childhood. As the New Republic came to fruition, the Corulag Academy became a place to train military officers, as before, but to service the New Republic instead. When Teran was old enough, he too entered the Corulag Academy, and was trained as a Republic Army officer. While stationed on Denon in his first four-year tour, he met his wife-to-be, Zirias Lacer. The two became romantically involved, and within a few years, had married. When Teran's tour was up, he and Zirias decided to stay on Denon, settle down and raise a family.

The Corrinos had two children, both of whom they were very proud of. Kira was born only a year after Teran and Zirias settled into their house on Denon. She was a bright baby girl, and grew quickly, almost too quickly for her parents. When she was five, Teran and Zirias decided that it was time to bring the joy of a baby back into the household. Aeryn was born soon after, completing the Corrino's ideal for family size.

The age difference between Aeryn and Kira didn't stop them from having their differences and conflicts. Or for the two to be left out on quality time between each other. Aeryn grew to see his big sister as a role model, and he tried to tag along with her when she got together with her friends. Her friends were mischievous, and they got into all sorts of trouble, for which they could always rely on Aeryn to be around to blame. For a few years, Kira tolerated Aeryn off and on, but there came a time when she disliked having her eight-year-old brother hanging out with her now-teenage friends. Aeryn was making her uncool, or so she thought, and she began to shun and ignore him.

Aeryn, to satisfy his need for being in a group of friends, began to gather peers of his own age. They were mostly boys in his grade, with the exception of one girl. While Aeryn was the person who had pulled them together, he became second to the de-facto leader, a boy named Mico, who was one year older than the other five members of the group, Berloc, Kole, Ommel, Arrik and the single girl, Jewel. It started out as simply a group of friends who would get together to talk and play, and sometimes play pranks, but as the years progressed, the group's initial mischievousness evolved into further acts of ill choice.

It didn't seem like it had any importance. According to the barkeep on Telos, though, this was the place. Reportedly, he'd been hiding out here for a while, laying low while he enjoyed the station's pleasantries, based on the barkeep's commentary. She hadn't questioned him about the word's meaning, the concept wasn't strange to her. Not after growing up in the place she had, with her primary caretakers being the women of Jabrukka's palace. Had she been anywhere else, the girl would have made an awful face and accompanied it with "yuck," or another similar exclamation. But her face had remained still, her voice silent; the girl had simply nodded and appeared to digest the information the barkeep relayed.

She was on a mission, and the most important part was that she not betray the fact. The girl had asked about him in reference to being a friend of her father's whom the pair was looking for. When the barkeep had asked where he was, she simply motioned across the dimly-lit room to the far side, where, shrouded in darkness, she hoped some patrons were conversing. The barkeep nodded, and the girl took it as a sign of understanding and pressed on. After she left the counter, she mad a point of walking in the direction she had gestured to pretend as if she was conferring with her "father." It only took a few seconds of talking with a complete stranger, but it was enough, and she had skipped out of the dusty tavern gleefully as if freed to run and play. Once outside, however, she had made her way to the spaceport to retrieve her ship and be on her way.

That had brought her here, to the Astral Astoria. At least that's what the barkeep called it, but on first sight of it, she thought of it as 'the big hunk of metal in space.' It was a giant space station the had simply appeared from hyperspace in the middle of the Hrydian lane some time ago. What it was doing there, no one knew, and the girl didn't particularly care. All she cared was that he was on it, and she would find him there. That was how it worked. She performed the mission, got the goods or killed/captured the person, and Shim was happy. And in return, she was rewarded by his kindness, and sometimes, gifts.

The best one she had gotten was her ship, the Procella Pennae, a Starlight-class freighter. The design was old, but the ship had been built recently, but as there were no records for it, it was impossible to determine that exactly. It was shaped like a long cylinder with a quarter-circle attached to one side almost like a wing, hence it's name. It had few weapons, but the object of the ship was not to fight. It had an average engine, but the object of the ship was not to fly fast. It was small, but the ship only needed to house one person. It's interior was designed half for comfort, and half for functionality and training. To the onlooker it was just another ship, nothing less, albeit of an uncommon design, but simply another ship nonetheless. From it's exterior, one would not expect that it was inhabited by someone who had been trained to be so dangerous.

Inside the ship was a different manner. The living, bed and bath rooms had been redecorated to her liking, complete with hues of pinks, purples and greens. The cargo bay the ship once possessed had been converted into a training room with a small section for weapons storage. The cockpit was largely unaltered, simply cleaned from the look and smell of its previous, but the small walkway just outside the cockpit was fitted with a computer system that included a dock for an astrometric droid. One had been provided by Shim, named R2-P4, to fly and fix the ship when needed; the girl was a terrible pilot and wouldn't be safe in fixing the ship either.

Approaching the Astoral, the girl found herself sitting in the cockpit seat, just staring at the sight before her, while P4 piloted the ship. A screen on her right blinked, and she spun her head to look as the screen lit up with the image of the station while a voice came over the speakers, "Identify yourself and your intention." The voice was toneless and neutral, like a computer would be, and with no image on the screen, it was difficult to determine if that was the case. P4 issued a string of beeps and whistles until the girl finally responded to him, indicating that he should answer. She was content to look at the station and marvel at its size, which despite her earlier thoughts on the structure, was impressive.

The same screen on her right split in half to accommodate P4's part of the conversation in textual form, if she had cared to read it. She didn't, but at times when she heard the conversation between the droid and the station's voice, the girl, confused, looked to the screen as if it could explain it just by her gaze alone.

This is the freighter Procella Pennae, requesting permission to dock.

"A droid? Are you flying the ship alone?

Negative. This ship contains one living passenger.

"Head to dock 27-B, port 7. Coordinates are being sent within this message."

Affirmative, this ship will proceed to dock. Thank you for your assistance.

The screen clicked off, and the view outside the windows began to change. She watched for a while, but after five minutes of trying to adjust the approach correctly, the girl became bored and went back into the living area. It wasn't until the ship rocked slightly, which, accompanied by a soft thud, indicated their arrival on the station. The girl stood to pick up her things, a bag that contained enough clothes to live out of for a while, among other things needed for her mission. They were safely tucked away, however, where they would not be obvious to spot or bulge out and betray their concealment. Ready, she stepped into the small hallway that doubled as an airlock and hit the control on a panel placed next to the airlock door. The floor beneath it began to lower slowly as it formed a boarding ramp, shuddering slightly when it touched the deck below.

Stepping down onto the ramp, the girl proceeded to check herself in and procure a room for the night. She didn't expect to stay, really, but she had to make her time appear legitimate. As she headed down the halls, there was just one thought on her mind. She, Allyseria Evnairis, Allie, would find her prey. And that was all that mattered.

Character Info
Name: Allyseria Evnairis
Nicknames/Aliases: Allie
Age: 11
Gender: Female
Species: 1/2 Human/1/2 Hapan
Homeworld: Nar Shaddaa

Appearance:

Allie appears as a typical human girl, with paler skin than most due to her Hapan ancestry. Her brown hair is generally worn braided in two parts which hang down to her mid-back, but from time to time she will wear it straight. She stands one or two inches shorter than most her age, although that allows Allie to operate with a less conspicuous profile.
-Hair Color: Dirty Blond

-R2-P4
-Comlink
Ships/transports/vehicles: Starlight Light Freighter, Procella Pennae

Affiliation: Major-General Nekor Shim, Alliance to Restore the Republic
Rank: Shim's Personal Operative

Personality: To be developed

Relations:
Mother: Tuija Sraal (deceased)
Father: Mikail Evnairis (deceased)
Handler/Mentor: Nekor Shim

Allie went on many more missions for Shim over the course of the next year, using her new ship, which had been redecorated for her.

Shim had been preparing her to perform one mission, one large and very important mission, one that he had been planning for months before he had met Allie, whom he accredited to bringing his plan to fruitation. The mission was, as Shim explained to her, to capture and kill the Underlord of Black Sun. Allie was shocked when she heard this, not so much of the mission itself, but of the implications. That Shim had such large personal ambitions was not something she had been aware of before, and it surprised her. But it was a mission that she could perform, the Underlord was well guarded, but she was well trained. All that needed to be done was to get Allie in place for the mission.

Before that could happen, however, Shim was contacted by members of the Alliance, the galaxy's rebellion movement, who had resurfaced with a new name. They explained that his mission was no longer a priority, and to extract himself as quickly as he could. Shim seemed prepared for this, and while preparations were made, he informed Allie of the situation. Her mission would not continue, as it had been a part of Shim's overall mission to align Black Sun with the rebellious organization. Instead, she would remain Shim's personal agent as he resumed his position within the army of the the newly-renamed Alliance. Allie was relieved at the mission's cancellation, but she was confused with the shift in politics. Shim assured her, however, that she wouldn't have to deal with it. Just as before, Allie would remain his personal operative, and kept secret to anyone but him.

Character Info
Character Name: Jerek Zenduu
Titles/Nicknames: Jer
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Place of Origin: Corulag
Profession: Jedi Sentinel
Affiliation: Jedi Order (Out of Contact)
Rank: Padawan
Force Sensitive: Yes

Appearance:

-Hair Color: Sandy Blonde
-Eye Color: Hazel Green
-Height: 5'6"
-Weight: 103 lbs
-Clothing/Armor: Jerek can appear in any number of attire depending on where he is. With his Jedi Master, he typically dressed in the traditional padawan's garb, but when a different outfit was needed for a mission, it suited Jerek just fine. When it is his choice, he typically wears the traditional padawan's tunic and uniform, but is known to wear clothes more commonly worn by the Galaxy's middle-class citizenry.

Distinguishing Features: Jerek is leaner and taller than his brother, but less physically adept, making him the perfect candidate for a Jedi Sentinel.
Handiness: Right

Personality: Jerek is generally more passive than his twin brother, at least seemingly so. He tends to respond to hostility with a calm that is awed by his brother. He doesn't keep grudges for very long, preferring to judge people by their personality instead. A hostile personality will have Jerek turn hostile, while a friendly personality will incite a more friendly reaction.

Many would consider Jerek an intellect. He is analytical and possesses a good deal of intelligence, favoring intelligence over brute force. His words are often carefully chosen, except perhaps under duress. He takes a particular fancy to language and speaking properly, along with making sure that others do the same. Sarcasm and irony can creep into his speech, but he doesn't make a point to use them often.

Being a person of mind rather than matter has allowed Jerek to increasingly focus on the Force over physical training. Lacking his brother's passion for training and work, Jerek uses the Force to increase his own capabilities, both mentally and physically. Some have seen it as a crutch for him, including his own brother, but Jerek sees it as using the Force to his advantage, especially when outmatched by someone stronger or more intelligent.

Relations:
Elias Zenduu - Twin Brother
Rene Zenduu - Mother
Kain Zenduu - Father

History: When Rene and Kain Zenduu found out that their future child would instead be two future children, they were overjoyed. They made great preparations, both with their home and with themselves. Twin brothers Jerek and Elias were born into a caring household. Nurtured greatly during their first few months, the twins formed a strong bond with each other and their parents.

As was customary for many families, the Zenduu's requested their sons to be tested for force sensitivity. The Jedi who came quickly confirmed that the pair indeed were force sensitive, but an uneasy Rene and Kain needed more convincing. They were disappointed that they had to give up their children, whom they had had only a few months of life with. The Jedi assured them that the twins would have a loving and caring family among the Jedi, and that they would be doing a great service of the Republic. Reluctantly, Rene and Kain were persuaded, and allowed their sons to leave the comfort of their home and go to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to be trained in the Jedi life.

Although it was unusual to do so, the Jedi accepted both Jerek and Elias into their midst. Attachments were discouraged, but the twins were allowed to nurture their bond, as their first caretaker thought it would prove to make the two stronger. Over the years, any attempts to do likewise would ultimately end in failure, and the twins were able to maintain the bond between each other, although they were strictly instructed on what attachment could do to a Jedi, and how it may be needed that the bond be circumvented by their duty to the Jedi or the Republic.

As Jerek and Elias both developed in the Temple, it was clear that each possessed an affinity for different areas. Jerek excelled in learning of the Force and absorbing the teachings of the Jedi Masters, but still learned to be a worthy opponent on the battlefield. Elias, on the other hand, took little care of his academic studies, but focused entirely on his skills on the training room floor. Between the two, Sentinel and Guardian, the Jedi who oversaw them agreed that they would indeed make a formidable pair as Jedi Knights.

The Clone Wars came, and the Jedi were commissioned to fight within the ranks of the Grand Army of the Republic. Jerek and Elias weren't far off from being considered for training under another Jedi, but as the war dragged on, possible masters started to die off. Two years into the war, at the age of eleven, Jerek and Elias were finally deemed ready to become apprenticed to a Jedi, but there were no two Jedi available to take them under their wings. The Jedi Council decided, considering the twin's bond, that they could be both be instructed by one master, but the master had to already have trained another before. So they were assigned to Jedi Master Qira-Shir Rekkon, a Jedi in her fifties who had already trained two Jedi before them.

As fledgling apprentices, the twins and their master were not sent directly into battle to fight in the Clone Wars, but instead, they were sent to worlds who still needed the help of a Jedi mediator or to eliminate some kind of threat. Their only encounter with the war itself was when they were sent to a world where the Confederacy and Republic had been engaged in battle for several weeks, and a key installation needed to be found to overturn the Confederate hold on the world. Early in the mission, the Confederates captured Qira-Shir, forcing Jerek and Elias to continue the mission on their own, in addition to locating and mounting a rescue operation for their Master.

It took several days to locate where the droid caravan that imprisoned Qira-Shir had gone, and the twins followed its route. It eventually led them into a complex of droids that they were forced to battle in order to remain alive. During the fight, Jerek located a control system for the complex, and accessed the controls while his brother held off the other droids. After a few minutes, he realized that the consoles controlled the operations of the droids in that complex, and immediately began to figure out how to shut them down. His efforts were halted, however, when he was prompted for a password. Not having any skills in computer hacking, Jerek opted for a different route. Locating the computer's processor nexus, he led his brother to it and disabled the processor, effectively severing the link between the computer system and the droids.

Unfortunately, some of the droids had been programmed with auxiliary commands, in the event they were separated from their control unit. Jerek and Elias defeated the remaining droids, but not without cost. Exhausted in battle, Jerek had taken a grazing blaster bolt to his arm. Within the droid facility, there was no bacta available, so he had to endure the pain himself. He and Elias went on for a while, tracking the caravan, but after a while, it was clear that Jerek was not going to be able to go much farther. He convinced his brother to leave and rescue Qira-Shir on his own, while he would try to make it back to the droid complex to access the computer system and find some information that would help. Elias reluctantly agreed, and Jerek headed painfully back to the droid complex.

By the time Jerek reached the droid complex again, it was already dark. He had trouble locating the computer system once more and wandered around the complex, slowly losing his energy. Finally, after more than an hour, he happened upon the same console station, and sat down. Accessing the system, he began searching for any indication of where Qira-Shir was being held. As he searched through the list of facilities, Jerek happened upon the facility the team had been sent to find. Delighted in his find, he immediately tried to contact the Clone Commander in charge of the planet's forces, but the comlink's range was too short. In the time that had elapsed since he parted ways with his brother, it seemed, their comlinks had also gone out of range. Jerek was alone for the night.

That next morning, Jerek awoke to the crackling of his comlink. Later, he would be grateful for the sound, for it had alerted him to the presence of a droid squad standing there, considering what to do with him. Pretending he was still asleep for a moment, Jerek carefully planned his attack. With a combination of the Force and his own lightsaber, he cut down the droids. Connecting to his comlink, he heard Elias on the other end, reporting that he had freed Qira-Shir, but it was all she could do to walk, much less fight or talk.

Elias and Qira-Shir made it back to the droid complex to meet with Jerek, and together they headed back for the Republic base. On their way, they met up with a Republic convoy who were able to spare a vehicle and Clone driver to assist the team back to the base. Jerek was so exhausted that it was all he could do to point to the pocket in which the data capsule he had stored there was. During the night, after finding the location of the facility, he had downloaded it into the datacapsule, making sure that the Republic would have the information even if he couldn't personally report it to them.

Jerek woke up almost a day later to find Elias resting comfortably beside him. His arm had healed from the bacta patches the Clone medics had applied, and his health had returned to normal. Qira-Shir, however, required several more days of rest after the ordeal she had gone through. Thankfully, she was not seriously injured, nor permanently deprived of her lightsaber, which she had retrieved before Elias had helped her out of the facility she had been held in.

It was after their mission on that world when Qira-Shir determined that they were ready for the next step in their apprenticeship. She took them to the world of Ilum where Jedi for millenia had come to complete a sort of rite of passage, creating their own lightsabers. Jerek and Elias were both instructed to head into the cave and part ways in little ways in. They did so, and Jerek found himself wandering into a cold tunnel that would take him deep into the caverns. Jerek wished for his cold gear, but he had left it at the mouth of the cave, as his master had ordered.

Settling down, Jerek began to meditate as Qira-Shir had instructed. Over the course of his meditation, he found himself engaged in combat with a Dark Jedi, albeit one who used a blue-colored lightsaber. Jerek was startled by the ferocity of his opponents attacks, and was clearly inferior as a swordsman to his opponent's skill. He longed for his brother to be by his side, the two as a pair functioned far better in battle than either alone. But it was not to be so, and Jerek continued battling the phantom Darksider. A combination of footwork, lightsaber skills and use of the Force was the only way that Jerek stood a chance against the phantom, and performed all these with skill, but the Dark Jedi continued on. Finally, in a last surge of energy, Jerek found himself thinking "I can do it, I can do it. I don't need my brother's help, I can do it." and with ease, he knocked his opponent's lightsaber out of his hand.

In the darkness, he had not seen the identity of his attacker, but now that he was disarmed, Jerek approached him. As he walked into the light, he was taken aback to find the identity of his opponent to be almost a mirror of his twin brother, whose features were contorted into a sinister grin. A moment later, the phantom vanished, and Jerek awoke from his meditation. Finding a lightsaber in his hand, the hilt being the one he had used in his vision, Jerek activated it, and found the emerald blade to be the same as in his vision as well. Unsure of what the resemblance meant, he headed back to the cave mouth, where he found Elias and Qira-Shir already assembled. Jerek approached with caution, wary of the vision he had had. Qira-Shir approached him and took him aside to discuss the vision he had had. Jerek explained it in its entirety, and asked what it meant. Qira-Shir only smiled and led him back to his brother, where she spoke to both of them at once, saying that they had both faced their biggest obstacle as being a Jedi, and had been shown the key to overcoming it. From then on, it was up to them to figure out how.

Jerek was confused by his master's insight, and after conferring with Elias, confirmed that he was as well. The two never shared their visions with each other, as Qira-Shir had forbidden it, but each tried to understand what it was that made it their biggest obstacle. Even after leaving Ilum, the twins still hadn't understood the meaning of their meditations, or why they both seemed to have had a vision with a similar goal in mind.

As the Clone Wars came to a peak with the death of Count Dooku, Jerek and Elias were sent with Qira-Shir on several missions to various worlds throughout the Republic, and to former Separatist worlds to help oversee the transition from Confederacy to Republic on those worlds. They were stationed on Elrood in the Outer Rim to help the planet peacefully transition to Republic control. The appointed Governor by Chancellor Palpatine reported several attacks on his staff by zealous individuals who denied recapture of their world by the Republic.

After several weeks on the planet without having much luck on locating the terrorist's leader, Qira-Shir developed a new plan. The team would go undercover into the terrorist organization, Qira-Shir posed as the boys' aunt, all vehement proponents of the Confederacy. The members of the terrorist organization, calling itself the Confederate Supremacists, were wary at first, but eventually grew trusting of the trio, and let them into their inner society. They learned that the organization did not possess a rigid hierarchy like some groups, but instead were operated by a number of cells spread over the planet, but all coordinated through their leader, Jessok Moraal.

Over the weeks, the team operated within the Supremacists, who were unaware of the trio's true identities. Finally, they received word that the Supremacists's leader, Moraal, would be coming to speak at a Supremacist rally, held at a secret location in one of the city's abandoned warehouses. Qira-Shir tipped off the Governor's security forces to the meeting, and they raided the rally, detaining all the occupants, while Moraal fled. Breaking cover, the trio went after him, and chased his vehicle to a location underground that seemed to be his headquarters. Using simple force, the team infiltrated the headquarters and confronted Moraal. Qira-Shir offered immunity to him if he would disband his Supremacists, but he refused. Elias suggested that he could either go with them, or go nowhere at all, ever again. That sparked an aggressive reaction from Moraal, who pulled out a lone blaster he had stored on his person. With a small tug of the Force, Jerek pulled the blaster out of Moraal's hand, disarming him, allowing Qira-Shir to move in and arrest him.

All set to head back to Coruscant, the team was shocked to see the news that the Chancellor had uncovered a Jedi conspiracy and, from analysis of the newscast, were feeding propaganda to the Republic's citizens. The Governor, whom the Jedi had befriended over the two months of their mission, was suspicious of the order he received from the Chancellor telling him to detain the Jedi. Instead, he granted them the use of his Helix-class freighter ship as a transport offworld. Ushered to the transport by the world's governor, Jerek, Elias and Qira-Shir made it safely off the planet and headed to a safe haven on a world outside the control of the Republic.

For several months, Jerek, Elias and Qira-Shir wandered around the Outer Rim, seeking friends and shelter, but finding mostly bysteanders willing to do nothing, and shelter only among the stars. On one world they ran into a Clone force that was patrolling the planet and were nearly caught before escaping the world. After a brush with the Republic forces in orbit, they were able to jump to hyperspace, but not without alerting the Republic to be on the lookout for Jedi using their type of ship.

Other: Jerek's focus during training was his mental abilities, including Force powers and negotiations. His lightsaber skills are not as advanced, but he supplements them with Force powers. All in all, he is the perfect example of a Sentinel.

Roleplay Threads / Re: HDM:tRoD RP Thread :: Part Two: TBD
Last post by The Insane Admin -
The door of the compartment glided open at a touch of the gentleman's hand, and he gestured towards her to enter. The girl nodded and slipped into the small train compartment. It wasn't too small, but it was far from roomy. At least it had a door on it, which was better than the open benches that served as seats for the last several passenger cars on the train. There were four seats, two on each side, and the girl seated herself on one close to the window, on the side that was closest to the rear of the train. She was surprised when the man slid the door closed again, and set down his bag on the chair diagonally across from her, while he took the seat directly opposite her own. As if knowing the question before it was asked, he offered an explanation, "I ordered a compartment to myself. I don't like the distractions of others in the room." A smile spread across his face, and swept away any doubt on her part.

Folding his hands, the gentleman placed his elbows on his knees, leaning forward to address the girl. Looking up, she saw into his eyes, although it was more like he saw into her eyes. The feeling passed in an instant, and the girl found herself blinking it away. He seemed like a nice man, and it had only been a momentary sensation, a feeling, nothing more, she told herself. There was nothing to worry about. Sirion, a ferret again, brushed against her hand, causing her to break eye contact and glance down at him. She grinned, and looked back at the gentleman, her mind at ease once more. "Now that we are all settled in," the gentleman began, "What is your name, my dear girl?"

She breathed deeply, unsure of how to answer. If she was still being hunted, and she likely was, he might tell them where she was. On the other hand, he seemed kind and nice, and more apt to help her out and give her shelter and safety. The girl was torn, thus, and the next few moments passed in silence. Evangeline kicked herself mentally, if she was quiet for too long, he would figure it out if she told a lie. I have to tell him the truth, she thought. Movement caught her eye, and she noticed Sirion nodding his head, confirming her thoughts. She sighed. Here goes nothing. Smiling to try to make up for the delay, the girl looked back up at the gentleman. "My name is Evangeline, but everyone just calls me Eva."

He chuckled, "It's very nice to meet you, Eva. And that is a very pretty name, but I would wish nothing less of a name for such a pretty girl." She blushed at his words and turned away for a moment, producing yet another chuckle from him. "And my name is Fitzgerald Crowley, but you may simply call me Fitz. I absolutely deplore the name Fitzgerald." Unsure of what deplore meant, the girl nodded, assuming he just hated his name. "So, tell me, Miss Eva, why did you need to get on a train without a ticket? Forgive me for saying so, but you don't look poor by any means. And where is your family? You haven't run away, now have you, child?"

"Umm," her words drifted off. Evangeline bit her lip, conscious of the surprising truth of the man's last question. She wished she could look to her daemon for comfort, but somehow felt prohibited from doing so, as if that would constitute some sign or implication of wrongdoing. She felt constricted, as if there was a physical force that prevented her from being comfortable. Shifting her weight from one leg to the other, the girl fidgeted in her seat. These were all signs of her discomfort, but none of them occurred to her as such. Nor did the help the situation any, or calm her. Nervous, she kept silent, unsure of the words that might come out of her mouth. Fitz seemed nice, but could she trust him? Could she trust anybody anymore?

Before she knew what was happening, Evangeline was speaking. She was telling Fitz about seeing her father arrested that afternoon while she had been playing on the roof. The soldiers, clad in the colors of the Magisterium, invoked fear in her, and coupled with her father's apparent arrest, caused her to flee back home. The girl recanted how, to her horror, she had found her street patrolled by soldiers, and several placed in front of her house. And how, when one had spotted her, she had taken off, flying down the streets as if a great fire had been lit under her. Evangeline told the man how she had headed for the train station, figuring the best way to avoid the soldiers was to get out of the city. As she spoke, the girl remembered what she was leaving behind, her mother and father, her home, the college and the scholars there, her school, the streets of Liverpool where she had played many days and nights, and most of all, her friends. A tear rolled down her cheek as she remembered them.

Bobby was always the most fun. He was two years older than her, but he still played with her and the other children. He was growing tall, much taller than she, and it was apparent that he would soon be displaying the appearance of a man. But he was the best at almost anything. When they played games in the streets, he would always be captain of one team. Bobby did so well at each of them, and so whatever team he was on usually ended up winning. And he was funny, too, cracking jokes at just about everything and every one.

Marci, for all her shyness, was Eva's best and closest friend, besides Sirion of course. She used to be picked on by the other children, but when Eva befriended her, and dared to use force to defend her new friend, the bullies backed away. That was almost four years ago now, and the friendship endured well. The two girls were about the same age, with their birthdays just weeks apart, and they likened each other to a sister, as neither one had any siblings at all. Marci's family had a stall on Market Street, and she helped out there often, so the times that she could play during the day were few. But Eva had been able to convince her to sneak off once in a while, and the two enjoyed exploring areas of the city, and just talking to each other. One day, Eva had led Marci to the college and showed her how to get up on the rooftop. Marci was so taken in by the view and the thrill of it all that the rooftop of the St. Edward's College became their de-facto hangout spot.

Kevin and Jack were brothers from a large family with four other children, two parents and their grandparents. Their grandfather owned a grocery store on Second Avenue that their father often manned, while their mother and grandmother baked items for the store's bread and pastry stores. The boys' older siblings generally helped out as well, but both of the children were too young to help, and too old to be cared for by their mother at all times. Kevin was two years younger than Eva while Jack was a year older, and the two participated often with Bobby, Marci and Eva when the three gathered for games and adventures. When playing games, Jack and Kevin typically manned one team, with Jack as the captain, while Bobby, Marci and Eva made up the other.

When they first met many years ago, Bobby had invited Jack along to one of their adventures, and Eva became fast friends with him. When Marci couldn't be spared from her parent's stall, or sneak away without getting in too much trouble, Eva often sought out Jack to explore and play with. Their relationship wasn't as close as Eva and Marci's, but they enjoyed each other's company regardless. When she had gotten back from the trip with her father, Jack had acted strange to her, but Eva just passed it off and immersed herself again in the company of her friends. And now she would never see him again. Or Marci. Or Bobby and Kevin either. She couldn't bear to glance out the window, but from the patterns that the light made, and the endless clacking of the wheels over the tracks, the girl could almost see the movement of the landscape as the train sped past.

A discernible "hmm" came from the direction of Fitz, and the girl looked up, blinking for a moment as she remembered instantly who he was and where she was. "I see," was all he said for quite some time. Eva wanted to ask what it was he saw, to badger him until he divulged all that he knew, but she felt curiously calm, as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. At that moment, to her, it didn't matter if Fitz knew everything, at least she didn't have to keep it all to herself anymore. She grinned to herself, happy that it was all gone, the feelings of terror and anxiety, and she basked in the blissful euphoria.

A few moments passed in silence between them, the girl continued to gaze out the window. The sensation didn't come on suddenly, but grew slowly over those moments. It was barely discernible when she had stepped into the train car, but now the sensation was so great that it was nearly screaming at her. She needed to find a place to relieve herself of this sensation, before she made herself look silly and Sirion passed out from embarrassment. Thinking of him, Eva glanced up to find her daemon in the form of a small songbird, fluttering about the compartment much like a wild animal, pardon the pun. Even Fitz had taken notice, looking to her to determine the cause for her daemon's restlessness. Before he could speak, the girl found herself asking, "Is there a restroom somewhere on here?" She didn't feel the need to explain more, it wasn't proper, and she was sure the gentleman could figure the rest out.

Fitz stood and opened the compartment door, motioning to someone outside. A few seconds later, a man in a uniform colored like the upholstery that covered the compartment's seating, a canine daemon panting beside him, approached. Fitz spoke to him softly and the man nodded, looking past the gentleman towards Eva. The girl stood, gathering Sirion from his wild dance and stroked him softly as she exited the compartment past Fitz. The uniformed man led Eva down the corridor past the compartments, and down a small set of stairs. There, at the end of the train car, was a door marked W.C.. The uniformed man opened the door and stood to the side as the girl entered.

She closed the door behind her and wasted no time. Eva removed the garments necessary and took a seat on the contraption that served as the train's toilet. A few minutes later, she finished and cleaned up, replacing her clothes as they were before. Sirion seemed much calmer than before, and the girl smiled at him. Opening the door, she stepped out and nodded to the uniformed man, who began to lead her back to the compartment. Once there, Eva thanked the man and entered the compartment, to find that it was empty. She sat down to wait, and before long, Fitz appeared. The girl gave the gentleman a curious look, to which he responded, "Sorry. I had some," he cleared his throat, "business to take care of. Nothing you need to worry about."

The girl nodded, satisfied with that information. And now that her body had been satisfied, the sensation no longer present, Eva felt another sensation coming on. Not like the last, no, this was more like a gentle pressure in her eyes and mind. Stretching out along the bench that made up the compartment's seating, she yawned, and succumbed to the gentle rhythm of the train passing over the tracks. Within minutes, Eva had fallen fast asleep, Sirion, back in his ferret form, curled up under the girl's chin and rested along with his human companion.
